6% of students reported using methamphetamine one or more times during their life.4
Drug Offenses:
29% of 2005 Federal Drug Cases in Kansas involved methamphetamine.5
Lab Incidents:
There were 157 lab incidents in 2006.6
Treatment Admissions for Methamphetamine Abuse:
2,106 treatment admissions for methamphetamine/amphetamine abuse in 2005;
13.8% of all drug abuse treatment admissions.7
State Laws Pertaining to Precursor Chemicals:
Sales limited to no more than four packages or containers to a specific customer within a 7-day period; Products are designated as schedule V; Products may only be sold or distributed in a licensed pharmacy by a licensed pharmacist; Any person purchasing, receiving or otherwise acquiring products must produce a photo ID showing date of birth and sign a log; As schedule V, must be stored behind pharmacy counter.8
