• The majority of the methamphetamine used in Pennsylvania is supplied by local traffickers who manufacture or produce it themselves and by major trafficking organizations operating in California and Mexico.¹

4.6% reported using methamphetamine one or more times during their life.²
0.5% of young adults aged 18-25 reported past year methamphetamine use.
0.2% of persons aged 12 or older reported past year methamphetamine use.³

Drug Offenses:

7% of 2005 Federal Drug Cases in Pennsylvania involved methamphetamine.⁴

Lab Incidents:

There were 38 lab incidents in 2006.⁶

Treatment Admissions for Methamphetamine Abuse:

356 treatment admissions for methamphetamine/amphetamine abuse in 2005;
1% of all drug abuse treatment admissions.⁶
